OUR STORY

Built by a mother.
Built for yours.

Joyful Sprouts Organics started not with a business plan, but with a problem. When one of my twins developed eczema in his first weeks, I started reading every label on every garment that touched his skin. What I found - synthetic dyes, oxidizing hardware, seam constructions designed for speed rather than comfort - led me to build something different.

I built this because I couldn't find anything I actually trusted.

I'm a mother of three boys and a Southerner who believes in doing things right – not fast. When it came to what my kids wore against their skin all day, every day, “good enough” wasn't good enough.

I spent months researching construction standards, dye testing, and hardware specifications before I placed a single production order.

Every decision in the JSO collection exists because I asked: why does this detail matter for a baby who can't tell me what's bothering them?

JSO is a small, self-funded brand. We are not trying to be the biggest baby clothing company. We are trying to be the most careful one.

How we build

Construction details most brands skip.

Every specification in the JSO collection was chosen for a reason. These are not marketing terms - they are requirements we hold our manufacturers to on every production run.

GOTS certified organic cotton

Made with cotton grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, processed through a manufacturing chain certified to GOTS organic textile standards.

Flatlock seams

Lie flush against skin - no raised ridge, no irritation point. More expensive to construct than standard overlocked seams.

Nickel-free hardware

Every snap, zipper, and closure in the JSO collection is nickel-free.

AZO-free dyes

Every JSO colorway is dye-tested before production.

Why the details matter

Babies can't tell you what's bothering them.

Most of the construction choices that define the JSO collection address a problem that parents only discover after the fact - a rash, a disrupted sleep, an unexplained fussiness.

A raised seam at the shoulder pressed against skin for twelve hours of sleep is the kind of detail that wakes a baby.
An oxidizing snap in contact with skin at every diaper change is an overlooked source of irritation.
A swaddle that is too small loosens during sleep and startles the baby.
Our sleeper uses a double zip so you can access from the bottom without disturbing the top.
The Joyful Gift Box brings together all four core pieces - bodysuit, sleeper, swaddle, and bib - built to the same standard, in one box.
